How to add text on photo

Adding text on a photo or a graphics element is a common practice in graphic design and photo editing. It allows you to incorporate textual information, captions, titles, watermarks, logos, or decorative elements into your images.

To add text to an image, you can use photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or even basic image editing tools. These applications usually provide a text tool that allows you to create a text layer on top of your image. You can choose the font, size, color, alignment, and other formatting options to customize the appearance of the text. This is often used for creating posters, social media graphics, or adding captions to photos.

Open Your Image:

Launch Adobe Photoshop.

Click on “File” in the menu and select “Open” to open the image you want to add text to.

Create a New Text Layer:

In the toolbar on the left, select the “T” icon for the Horizontal Type Tool. Click on the image to add text. This will create a text box where you can type your text.

Type Your Text:

Type your desired text in the text box. You can select the font, size, and color before or after typing.

Text Tool Options:

At the top of the window, you’ll see options for the text tool. This includes the font, font size, alignment, color, and more. Use these options to customize your text.

Move and Transform Text:

To move the text, use the Move Tool (shortcut V) to click and drag the text box to the desired position.

To resize or transform the text, use the Transform controls. Press Ctrl+T (Windows) or Command+T (Mac) to activate the Free Transform tool. Drag the handles to adjust the size and shape of the text.

Apply Changes:

Once you’re satisfied with the text placement and style, press Enter or click the checkmark at the top to apply the changes.

Save Your Work:

After adding text, save your image with the text layer. Use “File” > “Save” or “Save As” to save the edited version.

Remember, when working in Photoshop, each layer is independent, allowing you to add and edit elements without affecting the original image. The text you add will be on its own layer, giving you the flexibility to move, edit, or hide it separately from the image.

Photoshop offers a wide range of text and typography options, enabling you to experiment with fonts, colors, effects, and other text adjustments to create the desired look for your image.
